My friend Caitlin’s Trip this summer.

Hi! My name is Caitlyn Milheron. 
I am a senior in high school, graduating in May. 
I am extremely passionate about children. I am studying Elementary Education at Lee University in the fall. I want to make a difference in kids lives and my dream is to teach in a high need area, such as overseas or in an inner city area.  

This summer, I have the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Haiti. 

Haiti is among the poorest countries in the world with a GDP Per Capita of only $1,200 a year. As stated in the video above, there were over 500,000 orphans before the devastating earthquake in Haiti; one can only imagine how many there are now. These children just have a huge spot in my heart and I dream of making a difference in their lives.

This trip is through The Global Orphan Project. A team has been put together through my church for this trip. We are now in the fundraising process. 

The cost of staying in Haiti is $585 (Here’s a picture of the invoice e-mailed to me when I registered for the trip). 
Our team orders the tickets as a group 3-6 weeks prior to the trip. We have to take 2 flights; one flight from Chicago to Miami and one flight from Miami to Port-au-Prince. Because airline tickets can vary in price, we are estimating the cost of tickets is going to be around $615.

This puts the total of the trip at $1200.

If 240 people donated just $5, I would be able to raise enough money!
